Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° degrees.Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix the butter, shortening and sugar. Whisk until light and fluffy. About 2 minutes.
Add the extract, salt and flour a little at a time and whisk or use your hands until well combined and dough forms.
Divide dough into small balls about 1½ inch in size.Place balls on cookie sheet.
Create an indent in each cookie with your thumb forming a small well.Add sprinkles or a small piece of guava cube (½ inch) in the center.
Bake the cookies for about 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let them sit on cookie sheet for 2-5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.Finish cooling cookies on a wire rack to cool completely and harden some.Enjoy with coffee, tea or milk!
Notes
If you are using salted butter do not add the ½ teaspoon of salt, instead simply add a pinch of salt.
