Arroz Chino (Chinese Fried Rice)

Enjoy a delicious bowl of restaurant style Arroz Chino (Chinese Fried Rice) right from the comfort of your home! Easy to make at home and simply just delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups precooked white rice chilled
  • 1 chicken breast cut into ½ inch cubes
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 3 eggs whisked
  • 5 ounces mixed frozen veggies
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 3-4 scallions chopped
  • ½ white onion chopped
  • 3-4 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • teaspoons oyster sauce
  • ½-1 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Cook Chicken

  • In a skillet over medium high heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Allow butter to melt and then add chicken.
    Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes and stir.
    Continue cooking for another 3 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
    Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
    Lower heat to medium.

Eggs

  • Add another tablespoon of butter and allow to melt.
    Add eggs and scramble. Using a spatula, break eggs into small pieces. Remove from skillet and set aside.
    Keep heat on.

Cook Vegetables

  • Add another tablespoon of butter and allow to melt again.
    Add onions and cook until translucent.
  • Add the veggie mix and cook for 2 minutes. Add garlic and cook for a minute. (Make sure not to burn garlic or it will alter the taste of rice)

Stir Fry Rice

  • Return chicken to skillet and stir all ingredients together. 
  • Return eggs and add precooked chilled rice.
  • Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil.
    Mix all ingredients well. .
  • Add the chopped scallions and stir.
  • Taste rice for seasoning. Add additional soy sauce or a little more sesame oil if needed and stir.
    Serve immediately.

Notes

*To make white rice you can follow my Arroz Blanco (Puerto Rican White Rice) recipe.
*You can find sesame oil, oyster sauce and soy sauce in the Asian section of your local supermarket, online or local Asian market.
