Canned Black Beans
These delicious canned black beans recipe is excellent for a quick weeknight side dish serve alongside any Latin meal.

- 2 15.5 oz canned black beans do not drain liquid
- ½ cup white onions chopped
- ½ cup green bell peppers chopped
- 6 garlic cloves minced
- ¼ cup of pork fat, 4 strips of bacon or one smoked ham hock
- ½ cup water
Spices|Condiments
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- handful fresh cilantro
rinsed and chopped - salt and pepper to taste
Get all your ingredients together and chop veggies.(Rinse onion and pepper before chopping.) Add olive oil to a saucepan and heat over medium heat.Add the pork fat and stir. Cook until golden brown. Add the peppers and onions and cook for a few minutes or until onions are translucent.
Add the garlic and beans (undrained) to saucepan. Stir.
Add all the spices, water, cilantro and salt and pepper to taste.Cook for 25 minutes.Top beans with more fresh cilantro.
Serve beans with anything you like or with any of the suggestions mentioned in post.
