Guava BBQ Sauce (Salsa BBQ de Guayaba)

- 1 cup guava paste cut into cubes
- ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoon tomato paste
- 3 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ cup water
- salt and pepper to taste
Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan over medium heat.
Bring to a boil and then lower heat to a simmer. Cover with a lid and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
When the sauce has reduced and thickened, taste for salt and pepper, adjust if needed. Turn off the heat and allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes.
Use or transfer to a jar after it has cooled completely and refrigerate for up to one week.
Recipe Notes:
If you do not have smoked paprika, you can use regular paprika or 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke.
The BBQ Sauce will last stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
To make this sauce spicy, add a pinch or more of cayenne pepper.
