    These Batatas Majadas (Sweet Mashed Potatoes) are creamy and delicious! They pair well with turkey, pork, beef or chicken. Excellent side dish!

    I love Batatas Majadas (Sweet Mashed Potatoes) especially at this time of year! They side perfectly with pretty much any meat! Especially delicious with turkey, pork, beef or chicken.

    They’re quick, super easy, delicious and on the table in 30 minutes or less!

    With Christmas and New Years around the corner its only natural to think of making some sort of sweet potato dish.  But why wait to have these creamy delicious batatas majadas when they’re so good!

    These are great anytime!

    Ingredients for Batatas Majadas

    • 3 pounds sweet potatoes
    • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • ¼ cup milk
    • pinch of salt (optional)

    Toppings

    crushed pecans (optional)

    How to Make Batatas Majadas (Sweet Mashed Potatoes)

    Sweet potatoes or Batatas on a wooden cutting board.
    Batatas cued in a saucepan with water.

    1. Peel the sweet potatoes with a potato peeler or knife and cube into one inch pieces.
    2. Rinse pieces and add to a saucepan with enough water to cover.
    3. Cook over medium high heat for 15-20 minutes or until fork tender.
    4. Drain water from saucepan.
    Ingredients added to the cubed cooked sweet potato pieces.
    Sweet potatoes (Batatas Majadas) mashed.
    1. Add all the ingredients to the pot and mash with a potato masher or an immersion blender for an extra creamy mash.

    Ingredients

    • Garnish with chopped pecans or an extra dollop of butter.

    Notes

    If you would like to make this recipe Vegan, simply use a butter alternative and a plant based milk.
