    Love baby back ribs? Then you will love these Puerto Rican Style Costillas en Barbecue (Barbecue Ribs). This recipe produces tender, succulent fall off the bone ribs that you will want to make over and over again!

    If you are a rib lover and looking for a highly flavorful fall apart baby back rib recipe, you’re really going to enjoy this costillas en bbq recipe.

    This recipe is a no fuss, few ingredients and requires no marinating time!

    But don’t let that fool you into thinking these ribs will lack in flavor or be bland and lack seasoning. I promise that is far from reality.

    These are really delicious ribs without all the fuss that sometimes comes with baking the perfect rack of ribs!

    Not only are these ribs all kinds of delicious but they also do not require hours and hours of baking time to produce the most savory, tender yummy ribs!

    Have 15 minutes to marinate and an hour and a half of cooking time, then this recipe is for you!

    Ingredients

    • baby back ribs or pork spare ribs
    • adobo
    • homemade garlic paste
    • oregano
    • paprika
    • beer or water
    • barbecue sauce of your liking

    Here you go, as promised, you will only need these few and easy to acquire ingredients! Most likely, you already have these at home! Nothing fancy here! Yay!

    How to Make Costillas en Barbecue

    Begin with making a quick and simple garlic paste.

    Add 5 peeled garlic cloves to a chopper or blender with a ¼ cup of oil and blend until smooth and paste forms.

    Now proceed with getting the ribs ready to season and bake.

    1. Rinse the ribs and set on a cutting board or baking tray.
    2. At one end of the rack, using a small knife, slide the knife under the membrane and over the bone.
    3. Pull the membrane off and discard.

    1. Using the tip of the knife, pierce the skin of the ribs on both sides. (By taking the time to remove the membrane and pierce the skin, it will allow the seasoning we will be adding to seep through and season the ribs quickly.)

    1. Add a few spoons of the garlic paste on top of the ribs and spread all over.
    2. Season the other side as well.

    1. Sprinkle adobo on both sides.
    2. Sprinkle paprika and oregano on both sides.

    1. Place ribs on a baking dish and surround ribs with ½ of the beer.
    2. Cover baking tray with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1½ hours or until internal temperature is 195 degrees for maximum tenderness.

    1. Take ribs out, uncover and glazed with your favorite barbecue sauce on both sides.
    2. Place ribs back in the oven for 5-10 minutes, uncovered.

    1. Remove ribs from the oven. A fork should easily pierce right through meat.
    2. Cut ribs and serve.

    Optional: Top or serve with additional barbecue sauce if you like.
