These Chuletas con Salsa de Cilantro (Pork Chops with Cilantro Sauce) are highly flavorful and hyper delicious! Seared thin pork chops, topped with a garlic cilantro salsa and served on the dinner table in under fifteen minutes! Perfect for a week night meal!

Chuletas con Salsa de Cilantro (Pork Chops with Cilantro Sauce) served on a white platter and topped with slices of lime.

If you love pork chops for dinner, these will blow you away! They’re absolutely delicious, easy and really quick to make.

You can either fry them or grill them which is what I did with these. Because these “chuletas” were so thin, I grilled them inside quickly on a grill pan on my stove.

Grilling them gives them that “char” taste that I just love and then I topped them with a cilantro garlic sauce! Highly delicious!

The trick to getting these quickly on the table is to buy thin pork chops. In less than 15 minutes these are done!

And while they’re cooking make the cilantro garlic salsa so everything comes together at the same time!

Before we continue, here are two other amazing pork chop recipes to try that are absolutely delicious! Chuletas a la Jardinera (Garden Style Pork Chops), Puerto Rican Fried Pork Chops (Chuletas Fritas).

Things to Keep in Mind When Making These

First off, if you like cilantro chimichurri sauce, you will love this cilantro garlic salsa.

Although, it doesn’t use all the same ingredients as a cilantro chimichurri sauce, in taste, it is very similar and just as addicting. You will want to top this salsa on everything!

Next, although this recipe calls for thin pork chops, feel free to use the thickness of your liking but note that they will taste longer to cook.

Also, I find that in this recipe using thin chops that are quickly grilled creates small bits of “char” on the chops that combines perfectly with this salsa topping!

What to Pair with Chuletas con Salsa de Cilantro?

Wonder what to pair these with?

If you want to keep dinner under twenty minutes, pair these with a simple salad, a side of veggies or a quick pasta salad like this ensalada de penne pasta (Penne Pasta Salad) or this ensalada de coditos (Macaroni Salad).

Or if you have any leftover rice or potatoes, that would be perfect too!

I had some leftover rice and paired these with a side of Puerto Rican yellow rice with corn but another favorite to have these with is definitely Puerto Rican rice and beans.

These just pair excellent with rice.

    What Ingredients Will I Need?

Pork Chops – Pick a thin chop, preferably with the bone in but if you prefer boneless chops, go for it! But in that case go for a thicker pork chop.

Adobo – Well of course these have to be seasoned with adobo! Give them a good sprinkle on both sides for a perfectly balanced flavor.

Garlic Powder – Because you will be topping these with the cilantro garlic salsa that already uses fresh garlic, no need to use fresh garlic here. Again give them a good sprinkle on both sides.

Paprika – Adds a slight hint of smokiness that I just love. Sprinkle a little on both sides and these chops will be ready to go!

Vegetable Oil – To cook and sear the pork chops.

Cilantro – A handful of fresh cilantro is more than enough to make this addictive salsa.

Garlic – a few cloves is all you will need but a few goes a long way!

Light Olive Oil – To bring this amazing salsa all together!

Salt and Pepper – To taste.

How to Make Chuletas con Salsa de Cilantro (Pork Chops with Cilantro Sauce)

Raw pork chops on a wooden cutting board.
Seasoned pork chops on a wooden cutting board.
    • Rinse the pork chops under cool running water and set on a plate or cutting board.
    • Season by sprinkling adobo, garlic and paprika on both sides.
Seasoned raw pork chops inside a cast grill iron pan.
Cooked grilled pork chops in a cast grill iron pan.

As I mentioned, you can either grill or fry these. But keep in mind, if you plan on frying them, because these pork chops are thin do not overcook in oil or they will harden and toughen. These pork chops are meant to be tender but deliciously juicy.

    To Grill:

    • Using a grill cast iron skillet, add 2 tablespoons of oil and brush on pan or use a paper towel to spread oil on pan.
    • Heat pan to medium high heat and add pork chops.
    • Cook on each side for 5-7 minutes.
    • Flip over and cook for another 5 minutes or so.
    • Remove from pan and set aside.

    To Fry:

    • Add about a ⅓ of a cup of vegetable oil to a skillet.
    • Bring oil to a medium heat.
    • When oil is hot, carefully add pork chops and quickly cook for 3-5 minutes.
    • Flip pork chops over and cook again for another 3-5 minutes.
    • Drain pork chops on paper towels and set aside.

    Cilantro Garlic Salsa

Cilantro, garlic and oil in a small food chopper for cilantro garlic salsa.
Blended cilantro garlic salsa in a small food chopper.
    • Peel 3 garlic cloves and add to a blender or small food chopper.
    • Rinse a handful of cilantro under cool water and add to blender.
    • Add a ⅓ cup of light olive oil and add to blender.
    • Blend ingredients for a few seconds or until a smooth salsa forms.
    • Add salt and pepper to taste and stir.

Top pork chops with salsa and serve with a side of your choice.

    Enjoy!
