Barbeque Sauce for Chicken
Like any other recipe that calls for bbq sauce, the flavor of that recipe will highly be dependent on the sauce you choose.
YES! The sauce you choose makes ALL the difference in this recipe!!!
So choose a bbq sauce you absolutely love!
I like hickory bbq sauce so that’s what I use.
Sometimes I will use a combination of sauces to change the flavors up even further!
So this is also something you may want to think about.
For example, if you like a hickory smoked bbq sauce but also love a chipotle bbq sauce, why not combine them?
This combo would be absolutely delicious!
Chicken Used for this Recipe
Another thing that is really important is the chicken meat you use to make shredded bbq chicken!
Most people who make a shredded chicken recipe always seem to use chicken breasts….this is one area I certainly disagree!
I find that using a combo of both white and dark meat is the key to making excellent shredded bbq chicken!
Use chicken breasts and thighs or chicken breasts and drumsticks. But definitely include an equal balance of white and dark meat!!
I promise you, this will make all the difference in an okay shredded bbq chicken recipe to an excellent moist bbq chicken recipe!
