    Dulce de Leche French Toast with Cinnamon Sauce

    Dulce de Leche French Toast with Cinnamon Sauce is an excellent breakfast choice for both adults and kids.  This french toast can even be served as a quick lunch or dinner.  Made with eggs, milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.

    Looking for a new breakfast recipe?  Or even a quick dinner?  Well if you love or enjoy french toast, then you will love this Dulce de Leche French Toast served with a delicious warm Cinnamon Sauce.

    The bread slices are dunked in a delicious combination of sweetened condensed milk, eggs, milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon.

    The cinnamon sauce is then quickly batched up with crema, sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon, butter and simmered.

    Serve with a delicious maple syrup, top with fresh fruit and sprinkle confectioners sugar and you will find yourself in a little bit of food ecstasy.

    This Dulce de Leche French Toast is perfect for breakfast, quick lunch and even dinner.

    And one that without a doubt the kids will love too!

    Ingredients to make Dulce de Leche French Toast with Cinnamon Sauce

    • 2 eggs
    • 8 slices of bread
    • ⅓ cup of sweetened condensed milk
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • ¼ cup milk
    • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • butter for cooking toast
    • fresh fruit (optional)
    • confectioners sugar (optional)

    Cinnamon Sauce for French Toast

    • 1 small can of Nestles Media Crema (found by the evaporated milk or the Latin section of supermarket)
    • ⅔ cups sweetened condensed milk
    • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoon butter

    *Could also use regular milk or Mexican crema if you cannot find Nestles Media Crema.

    How to Make Dulce de Leche French Toast

    Ingredients to make the dulce de leche french toast, eggs, bread slices, sweetened condensed milk, milk, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.

    Cut bread slices in half at a diagonal.  (optional)

    Mix all the ingredients for dulce de leche egg mix and dunk bread slices.

    Cover bread on both sides with egg mix.  (Do not let slices soak too long in mix as the bread will break apart in mix)

    In a skillet over medium heat add two tablespoons of butter and cook a few slices at a time until golden brown on both sides.

    Continue cooking the other slices.

    While french toast is cooking, make the cinnamon sauce.

    Simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl except butter.

    Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.

    Add sauce to saucepan and simmer for 4 minutes.

    Top the cinnamon sauce on french toast or serve on the side.

    I also love my french toast with fresh fruit and strawberries are my favorite!

    Sprinkle french toast with confectioners sugar and serve!

    Make Ahead Dulce de Leche French Toast

    Cook french toast as per instructions and allow the toast to cool completely.

    Place a piece of wax paper in between each piece of toast and place in an air tight container or freezer bag.

    Freeze for up to two months.

    Reheat single servings in a toaster or in a pan over low medium heat.  For larger servings, reheat in a skillet over low medium heat or in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

    Serve as normal.

    Ingredients

    • 2 eggs scrambled
    • 8 slices of bread cut diagonally
    • ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • ¼ cup milk
    • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • butter for cooking
    • fresh fruit (optional)
    • confectioners sugar (optional)

    Cinnamon Sauce

    • In a skillet over medium heat add two tablespoons of butter and cook a few slices at a time until golden brown on both sides.Continue dunking and cooking the other slices.
      While french toast is cooking, make the cinnamon sauce.

    Cinnamon Sauce

    • Simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl except butter.
    • Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
      Add sauce to saucepan and simmer for 4 minutes in a small saucepan.
    • Top the cinnamon sauce on french toast or serve on the side.
      Sprinkle french toast with confectioners sugar, fresh fruit (if using) and serve!

      OH EM GEE!!! I love everything about this. I absolutely love french toast and dulce de leche but never thought to combine the two. Pure genius!!!

      We, or rather the kids love these with regular milk. Don’t know why, but we tried the condensed milk, the regular milk just gave it a better taste!
